Check Anti-Pollution System

Post by maximus3710 »

Hi,
I am new in this forum and sorry I am writing in English, my Swedish is not so great. So I have a Kadjar 1.5 Diesel 2018 model, and I was in a 4 day tour from Stockholm to Malmö and Göteborg. In Göteborg when i started the car in the morning I got the "check anti pollution system" alongside the check engine light. I did some research and some suggestions said do a trip to warm up the catalytic converter to clean it. After that I had the trip from Göteborg to Stockholm which was a long trip and enough to warm the catalytic and clean it, so that didnt work. I have a warranty with a company but they not cover Partikel filter. Can this be something not related to the partikel filter? Do you guys have any suggesstions?
Thanks

You need to use an OBD2 dongle and software to pull out the fault codes. It can be the exhaust pressure valve that is stuck, fault codes normally one or more of P1484, P1485, P1486, P1487. Quite common on the 1,5 dci and 1.6 dci.

Hi,
It was exactly that. Lucky i had a warranty for the car and they replaced it for free. The total cost was 10.000Sek, so not cheap. I hope there arent any more common issues for the 1.5 dci cars. Thanks for the answer though!

Good to hear problem was solved. I’ve replaced mine on my own, part was about 1700 SEK.

I think mine costed more because they replaced this whole part, not only the valve. They said they need to replace the whole thing, thats how they dealt with this kind of problems. ( Pic taken from google )
